This is the 35th season of TheaterWorks, a non-profit theater that provides the most comprehensive programming of any performing arts organization in the West Valley. Drawing more than 130,000 patrons to its programming last season, TheaterWorks’ expansion of artistic offerings has engaged more audiences than ever before and drawing them to the West Valley. This past season, TheaterWorks received the West Valley Arts Council’s 2015 Champion of the Arts Award, The “Uniquely Peorian” Award from the Peoria Chamber of Commerce, “Not-for Profit Partner of the Year” by the Peoria Unified School District and four ariZoni Awards. Arizona Foothills Magazine Best of Our Valley 2017 named Theater Works Best Theatre! TheaterWorks’ extensive programs for youth include full-scale productions (winners of two ariZoni Awards in 2015 including Best Overall Youth Production. Best Musical, Best Director of a Musical and Best Choreography by BroadwayWorld.com for Les Miserables School Edition in 2016 and 13 NYA Awards in 2016), field trip performances that allow over 3,000 school children a season to experience live theatre, year-round classes and camps, and touring troupes that bring music, drama, and dance to major events and festivals, as well as senior centers and schools. TheaterWorks received the 2014 Nonprofit Collaboration Award from the Peoria Education Foundation.
