The Torch Theatre Improvisation and Creative Arts Day Camp

Parents can choose to enroll their child into our Improvisation camp for a short time or into our full day creative arts camp where students expand beyond improvisation to write, rehearse and create a movie.

This five day camp will focus on letting the kids express their imagination and bring it to life. Using improvised storytelling skills the kids will work on saying yes, supporting ideas, listening and collaborating to create a world full of great lands and fun characters. Parents are invited on Saturday for a showcase performance.

Intro to Improvisation ($175)
- AGES: 7-9yrs & 10-13yrs

- 7-9yrs Time: 10:00am-12:00pm
- 10-13yrs Time: 1:00pm-3:00pm

The students will enjoy five days of camp learning basic improv skills using exercises and short form improv games. The class will open them up to some acting, comedy and hours of laughter. They will focus on saying yes, acceptance of ideas, listening and working with others. These students will explore creating characters and building scenarios. Parents are invited on Saturday for a showcase performance.

Creative Arts Day Camp ($425 for full day program)
- AGES: 4yrs - 13yrs
- ~June 12th-16th
- ~July 10th-14th
- 7-9yrs Time: 8:30am-5:00pm (break for improv & lunch)
- 10-13yrs Time: 8:30pm-5:00pm (break for improv & lunch)

In addition to learning the art and skill of improvisation, students will spend the rest of their days cultivating their very own movie. Collectively they will write a script and develop characters. Time each day will be spent on artistically creating backdrops, props, and costumes. Rehearsing and memorizing lines will culminate in a short movie made just by them! The film will be played at each of the showcases.
Students will need to bring their own lunch. Snack breaks will be provided by The Torch.
