Black History Month Poetry Writing Workshop, Presented by International Award-Winning Author Melissa Woodforlk-Whyte
Join us for our Black History Month Poetry-Writing Workshop. This workshop is more than a writing session—it’s a celebration of Black voice, memory, and experiences. Through international award-winning published author Melissa Woodforlk-Whyte’s lens, participants will be invited to honor their stories, speak their truths, and write themselves into history. Enjoy hearing multiple short story & poem excerpts from prominent black poets, such as Langston Hughes and Maya Angelou, who wrote about the Civil Rights Movement. Learn the stories behind what they wrote. The Black History Month Poetry Writing Workshop is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
