Circus arts provide the ultimate blend of fitness, creativity, and fun! Every kid regardless of age, gender, background, or body type can find things they love to do and share with others. Campers will learn from experienced teacher/performer/coaches in a ratio not more than 7:1 and practice solo and ensemble skills in ways that build self-esteem, trust, and cooperation. Best of all, they surprise and delight themselves with what they can do. Campers will learn juggling (balls, scarves, plate spinning, flower sticks, diabolo, poi), balancing (tight-wire, stilts, unicycling, rolling globe, rola bola), acrobatics (tumbling, mini-tramp, human pyramids), aerial arts (silks, lyra, trapeze) and clowning! Each camper gets to try all the different skills, then towards the end of the week, they choose two skills to specialize in. The last day of camp finishes with a show for family and friends! Each camp day includes warm up, cooperative games, and play that reinforce circus lessons in trust and cooperation. Campers bring their own lunch and a snack each day.
