Girls Who Code

Girls Who Code is an international nonprofit leading the movement to close the gender gap in technology. We’ve reached 500,000 students through our programming and have sparked culture change through marketing campaigns and advocacy efforts, generating 14 Billion engagements globally. We have 115,000 college- or post-aged alumni—majoring in computer science or related fields at 7x the national average.
We offer free and flexible computer science programs for 3rd-12th grade students to learn how to make a positive impact on the world through computer science.
- Girls Who Code Clubs (In-person or Virtual!):
- We provide educators with free meeting guides, 120+ hours of flexible curricula, inspiring women in tech spotlights, community-building activities, training, swag, and a $500 Clubs Fund through an Amazon Wishlist fulfillment to help 3-5th and 6-12th graders be brave and resilient as they use code to change the world. NO coding experience needed!
- Girls Who Code Summer Programs (Virtual):
- In our 2-week Summer Immersion Program for current 9th-11th graders, participants will join live, supportive classrooms hosted by industry-leading companies like MetLife, Bank of America, and Accenture. With our brand-new game design curriculum, they’ll learn the fundamentals of game design, UX, and the iterative design process. By the end of the program, participants will build a suite of short games using p5.js, a JavaScript library for creative coding. Eligible students can apply for laptop or hotspot access and $300 grants for financial support.
- In our 6-week Self-Paced Program for current 9th-12th graders, participants will learn to code through independent study and real-world projects. Students can choose from three learning tracks and earn beginner-level certificates of completion in HTML, CSS, or JavaScript for web development or intermediate-level certificates of completion in Python for cybersecurity or data science.
Participants in all programs can access exclusive alumni benefits and career support for life, including our Hiring Summit, Technical Interview Prep, College Loops, Leadership Academy, GWC Talks webinars for career tips and strategies, and more.
