Homeschool Explorations - Staying Warm in the Desert (Ages 9-11) | Kids Out and About Phoenix

Homeschool Explorations - Staying Warm in the Desert (Ages 9-11)

*The event has already taken place on this date: Thu, 12/09/2021
Students will learn how both people and animals adapt to our sometimes chilly desert environment. During this class, we will explore how Taliesin Fellows tried (and sometimes failed) to keep warm in their desert shelters!

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email so we can update it immediately.

Explore nature, science, engineering, the arts, and architecture at Taliesin West! Each lesson focuses on a new concept, and every activity takes inspiration from Frank Lloyd Wright’s work, the Sonoran desert, and the wonderful UNESCO World Heritage Site, Taliesin West.

Registration fees are per student. Each class will be taught outside, so please dress for the weather.

All classes meet at the ticket kiosk. A parent/guardian must accompany each student. Students and their families must stay with their Museum Educator during the lesson.

A tour of the historic area of Taliesin West (ie: the tour route) is NOT included in this program.

*Times, dates, and prices of any activity posted to our calendars are subject to change. Please be sure to click through directly to the organization’s website to verify.
