Intro to Woodworking

In this introductory workshop guests will learn the fundamentals of woodworking and how to safely operate the core woodshop tools.

Guests get concrete, hands-on experience with using a drill press, bandsaw, belt and disk sanders while building a small wooden shelf. Learn to make mitered cuts, curved cuts, smooth edges, and drill holes.
*Participants ages 13–17 must be accompanied by a ticketed adult for Intro to Woodworking. Safety glasses, short sleeves, and closed-toed shoes are required. Hearing protection and dust mask advised. Located in CREATE at Arizona Science Center®, adjacent to the main building.
