Mozart's March Madness
*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 03/04/2017
Mozart’s Requiem screams “Murder Mystery” to everyone who has read the story of its inception. A stranger shows up at Mozart’s door and commissions a Requiem Mass for his master, who is to remain anonymous. Mozart needs the money and starts to write, and with every passing month he gets weaker as a mysterious illness takes hold. Suspecting that he is writing the piece for his own funeral, he composes some of the most breathtaking and glorious music ever written.

Commissioned in 1965 for the Southern Cathedrals Festival, Leonard Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms allies us with a young David against the giant Goliath. The melodies inspired by this confrontation, especially Bernstein’ setting of the 23rd Psalm, make this work one of his most beloved and well know pieces. Written specifically with boys’ voices in mind, join us to witness the triumph of good over evil!
