Cub Scout Pack 619 | Kids Out and About Phoenix

Cub Scout Pack 619

Our Cub Scout pack serves girls and boys kindergarten through 5th grade. We emphasize outdoor activities, adventure, and community service. We are a family pack and welcome all family members to participate in the pack fun!

The scouting experience in Pack 619 is outstanding!! Our activities emphasize character development, leadership, learning about the community, family understanding, and personal fitness. Our other main focus, of course, is to have fun!!!

Some of the highlights of our pack include

- We plan 3+ camping trips per year. Past locations include the Grand Canyon, Payson, and Roosevelt Lake.
- We are a family pack: the entire family (parents, siblings) are encouraged to attend events.
- New Year’s Hike: we ring in the new year with a local hike.
- Bike Rodeo: scouts learn safety rules as well as have fun racing and navigating an obstacle course. Some scouts  have learned to ride without training wheels at this event.
-Pinewood Derby: this is an iconic Cub Scout event. Using a kit that ncludes a block of wood, axles and wheels, scouts (with adult support) design, cut, sand, and paint their cars. We then race the cars down a track.
-Rockets: scouts construct and decorate their rockets. They then launch their rockets at a park event.
-Recycled Raingutter Regatta: similar to the pinewood derby, the raingutter regatta is an event where scouts design and build a boat to race. Instead of using a kit, we focus on conservation and scouts construct their boats from recycled materials. We also have water themed relay races for scouts to play as a team while cooling off.
-Paint Night: in a guided format (Bob Ross style) scouts create a painting on canvas.
- Movie Night: we play a fun movie using a projector. Snacks and other goodies are provided.
- Trunk or Treat: for our October pack meeting, families and dens plan and decorate their cars. Scouts wear costumes and have a fun evening collecting goodies.

We feel confident that your son or daughter will flourish with the scouting experience. If you are interested in joining the cub scouts, please contact Cubmaster Cory at Pack619phx@gmail.com or text 602-358-4053
