The multicultural festival is open to families attending the school and neighbors in the surrounding area. The free event is an opportunity for sharing cultures and respecting diversity, all while celebrating the arrival of spring in the desert and — last but not least — recognizing the school’s “Sweet 16” birthday.
A highlight of the festival will be a special birthday toast (with sparkling juice, of course!) honoring the school, which first opened its doors in 2009. Attendees can also expect a series of multicultural performances that pay homage to the heritage and culture of this diverse Valley neighborhood, along with international-themed foods and desserts available for purchase, complimentary arts and crafts projects, and fun family door prizes for registered guests.
The free neighborhood event is open to local families, including those interested in exploring enrollment at ASU Prep’s Phoenix Downtown campus, one of 13 schools within the ASU Preparatory Academy network.
At ASU Prep, family involvement is key to students’ success, and hosting community events like the Spring Fling celebration brings families and the surrounding community together. This free community event offers families in the area an opportunity to explore the school, meet staff, tour the building and experience some of the engaging educational activities that inspire children to excel in the classroom.
ASU Prep’s approach is personalized, project-based and tailored to meet the needs of individual students in diverse communities across Arizona. It’s all part of an effort to remove barriers and help students pursue their passions, achieve their goals and build a lifelong love of learning.
Attendees who pre-register will be eligible for prize drawings. Registration is required and may be completed online ahead of time at asuprepevents.com.
