Come see for yourself where your food comes from. Take a break with the kids and enjoy what farm life is all about, visit Blue Sky Organic Farms on our Open Farm Day, Sunday, April 8th.

If you’ve never visited a working farm, do it on April 8th. The event will begin at Noon and go until 3:00pm. The Farm Store and a Market Stand will be available for you to purchase our freshly harvested organic produce and eggs. Additionally, our Farm Store offers a variety of products to vast to list: from bread and homemade treats to handmade soaps. Come see for your self what treasures are waiting for you. We will also be offering a variety of homemade soups and salads made fresh in our kitchen, focusing on products grown here on the farm.

For the children’s entertainment and education we also host a variety of activities to keep the young minds and bodies busy. Activity options will include planting a vegetable, learning about vegetables, coloring activities, feeding the chickens, ducks and goats, just to name a few.

For those of all ages, we will also be offering two farm tours through the course of the day. The first, beginning at approximately 12:30 will concentrate on the animals we have here on the farm, what is their purpose and why we have them. The second tour will concentrate on the fields and organic growing processes we follow on the farm; that tour will begin at approximately 2:00. These tours are interactive, so you are free to ask questions based on your interest about the farm.

Here’s some reasons why to join us for a great day!
1. TO BRING THE FARM TO LIFE.
They say experience is the best teacher. Most of us won’t get the chance to actually work on a farm, but visiting one is the next best thing. To see first hand the people who do the hard work of caring for animals or raising crops, in order bring healthy, wholesome food your family – it’s just beautiful. It’s so much more than a bundle of produce off the grocery store shelf that came from who knows where and was treated who knows how.
2. TO LEARN HOW YOUR FOOD IS RAISED.
We have our pick of grocery stores and natural markets in the valley where you can find just about any variety of any food you ever want or need. But, what you can’t get at those stores is first hand knowledge. You can’t know for sure where the produce came from, how it was grown, how long ago it was harvested, or how it was handled during it’s journey to the store. Come learn about the vast difference in buying freshly harvested organic produce from your local farm.
3. TO MEET OTHERS IN THE FARM TO TABLE COMMUNITY.
Current and future customers and the public are invited to tour the farm, ask questions, and mingle with the farm staff and one another. We love how food brings people together. There is a sense of camaraderie and community with so many who share similar values with regard to feeding their families.
4. TO GET OUT IN NATURE.
Beyond the value of supporting a local grower and feeding our family with wholesome food, it’s just plain good to get out into the country sometimes. There’s something about the “concrete jungles” where so many of us live that begin to suffocate something deep in our beings without us even realizing it. But, as I get out into wide open space with pastures and sunsets and dirt roads, something inside settles a bit, exhales, and smiles.

Some of you have probably had the chance to visit a farm, but if you haven’t we want to encourage you to do it. It’s an experience you won’t forget; and we truly believe that most families, after seeing the farm in person, will be more motivated than ever to make room in their calendars and budgets for supporting farmers and buying fresh, local organic food.
Support a farm that is striving to honor the land while providing an amazing product.

We hope to see you at our Open Farm Day, April 8th!
