Southwest Valley Family YMCA
The Southwest Valley YMCA first opened its doors in April of 2005. A welcomed addition to the community, our branch has many unique qualities that set us aside from most YMCA’s. First, we have a successful collaboration with the City of Goodyear and the Agua Fria School District to operate our amazing Olympic-sized swimming pool. Our pool, which is one of the only 50 meter pools in the west valley, offers programming from infant swim lessons to competitive swim and dive teams. We are also the home pool for Grand Canyon University and the training pool for Olympic hopeful Darian Townsend. Next to our Olympic sized pool, we are happy to offer activity to our members and their families at our Recreational Pool complete with a 3 story waterslide! It is THE PLACE to be in the summer time. Although, our pools are the focal point of our YMCA, we offer many programs for our seniors, youth, and families. Our Active Older Adult classes go beyond classes with social activities both off and on site at the Y. We offer a wellness curriculum “Fitness, Food, and Fun” which provides activities to our youth in programs from Amazing Kids to K-12. We have recently added classes’ specific to our home schooling community that provides not only a health and wellness component, but a social one as well. From Ballet and gymnastics to Summer Camp and Swim Meets, our Y is always hoppin’!
