Summer Backyard Stargazing

*The event has already taken place on this date: Thu, 07/29/2021
With relatively warm, lengthening nights and one of the best meteor showers of the year, the months of August and September are a great time to check out the night sky, even if it's just from your backyard with no fancy equipment. Students will leave this class prepared to observe the season’s major celestial landmarks and events visible with the unaided eye – including individual stars, constellations, another galaxy, planets, the Moon, and the Perseid and Delta Aquarid meteor showers.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

He studied geology and history at Brown University, and has traveled widely to wild and historic places across the United States, but loves the people, landscape, and history of his native Western New York best.
